Scripture: Exodus 15:22-16:10

After crossing the Red Sea God’s people wandered in the wilderness, far from Egypt. God had rescued them and they thought things would be much better. But their journey wasn’t over and it was difficult. The wilderness is a challenging place to live, for people and for all living things. The nights are cold and the days are hot. It is dry, with little water to be found. The people complained a lot. They were hungry and thirsty. God heard their cries and led them to springs of water.

In this time of isolation, we may also complain a lot about not being able to see friends and do what we want to do. In some ways we are in the wilderness, wondering when we can go back to what we used to do. But God will help us and God hears our complaints.

Holy Eucharist

Sunday, August 14, 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM

Worship in the Episcopal Church rests on scripture and the traditions of the elegant language of the Book of Common Prayer. While the worship might seem more formal than spontaneous, we reliably read scripture every time we worship together, and we follow the liturgy that has stood the test of time. Our worship is in letting the liturgy carry us along into a deeper spiritual awareness and connection with God.
